How long can an elderly person with Alzheimer's stay on morpine?
My grandma has diabetes and she is in a nursing home. She also has alzheimer's. Within the last 6 months she has developed an ulcer on her foot with can't be removed cuz she wouldn't withstand the surgery. She was on pain patches but it has been changed to morphine within the last 3 days, they are giving it to her 5 times a day for the pain, it's not high doses, but I am still worried about the affects it has on her. Can someone help?
