Why Won't They Give Me My Pregnancy Blood Test Results?!?!?! I'm Paying For It!?

I'm so angry. My period is 19 days late. I tested positive for pregnancy twice the day before my missed period. Then the week after I tested negative on 4 different tests.

Last friday I went to the clinic for a blood test. The results were supposed to be in the next day, but it was saturday. Well its thursday and nothing. The clinic can't give me the results only the nurse's office can it takes 1-3 days for them to call you back after you call.

I'm getting so mad! I want my results. I'm having to pay out of pocket for this. I'm pissed. What should I do? Getting to the clinic was a hassle in the first place.

I am sure all of the other people are thinking, why do I have to wait, my insurance is paying for this, or I have also paid out of pocket...
No need to get pissed, everyone has to wait their turn. Just because you pay out of pocket does not grant you "call me first" status.
Sorry, but this is just how it is.

Just keep calling and leave a msg. The reason why is the secretary can't read medical information over the phone even if she did understand the results.So you will have to wait for the nurse to get off her butt and call you back. But if you keep calling and leaving messages saying you went in had blood test done you'd like the results now. And just keep calling until they call you back. And thats weird that two came back positive then negative. Sometimes People miscarry very early and since most woman won't test they never even know they were pregnant. Hope everything is okay.

They have to follow legal procedure and strict HIPAA laws. When I was a receptionist at a doctors office people would call for their results all the time. I was not allowed to see their results, only the doctor could see and deliver them. Go there and sign a waiver releasing your documents and results. They can charge a fee for this service also, legally. Doesn't seem fair but its all due to the strict privacy act and laws due to the growing number of lawsuits and people getting sue happy.

Can you go into the clinic? If you could, you could demand the results there.
