Info on High Cholesterol?

Hi all, I have a friend who has had a test for high cholesterol, she hasnt had her results back yet but she is sure that she will have high cholesterol as her Dad has recently been told he has it. She is getting really stressed about this and I dont really know what I can say to calm her down and comfort her.

Does anyone have any information on how this will affect her if she has high cholesterol, how she can manage it and how serious it is?
