I am getting tested for glandular fever in a few days, but am very worried it...

...might be something else? I have been sick with a flu for about 8 weeks on and off, had a big fever...that lasted over a week. My glands are so swollen and painful and I am very tired all the time. So i went to the doc, she is sending me for a test on Tuesday. But i have no swollen lymph nodes in my neck (one of the signs of glandular fever) she said.
Do those symptoms sound like the first signs of HIV?
I feel so panicky about it since i read some other questions on here about the signs of HIV.
Any one know anything about it?
I would appreciate any advice :-)

Well, why don't you tell her to test you for HIV also? Everyone is afraid of HIV so you're supposed to somehow protects yourself and if you haven't, then you need to get the test. Sometimes you just have to have the test so you can stop thinking about it and making yourself crazy.
