Default distinction between Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis?

the following is the report of the biopsy:-
Colonic biopsy is composed of 4 fragments with intact lining epithelium. Lamina propria shows dense lymphocytic infiltrate forming lymphoid aggregates. There is cryptitis, with focal surface mucodepletion. There is distortion of crypt architecture with focal crypt loss and crpt branching. There is lamina propria fibrosis with extension into the submucosa. Biopsies also show crushing artefacts. No granulomas seen. Distinction between CD and Uc is not possible in this diagnosis. Overall features are those of IBD.

The big difference between them is that ulcerative colitis effects the inner lining of the mucosa and crohns effects the entire wall of the colon. In UC the ulceration and inflammation is continuous and in crohns the disease has patchy areas of inflammation. UC can be cured by surgically removing the large intestine but crohns cannot. I was diagnosed with UC 6 years ago.

Crohn's disease takes place in the small intestine, whereas Colitis is primarily in the large intestine.
